Two Opportunities This Saturday

Hey FLOOD,

I just wanted to remind you of two great things going on this Saturday at PFB and in Pomona. They are different in function and purpose, but both as so incredible.

First, there is a city-wide cleanup happening in the City of Pomona called Pomona Beautification Day. This is a day when groups and citizens of Pomona get together for the purpose of cleaning up Pomona. It kicks off at 7am at City Hall. From 8am-noon we will get to work throughout the city. And then from noon-3pm there will be a celebration at Fairplex. For all of the information for this, click here. You can also read about it in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

Second, on Saturday from 9:00am – 8:30pm we have the Zechariah Project. Here is how those who are organizing this day of prayer and fasting describe it:

“FLOOD community is dedicating a whole day for prayer and fasting. On May 12th please join us in the B-building to seek and entreat the Lord as a FLOOD family through prayer and fasting. You can stay the entire time or come and go as you please. We will end the day with a wonderful feast. Cost. is $5.00″

And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month and the fast of the fifth and the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth shall be to the house of Judah seasons of joy and gladness and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth and peace.

“Thus says the Lord of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities. The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek the Lord of hosts; I myself am going.’ Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the Lord. I received a text message from Pastor Andy tonight. Last night he came up at the end of FLOOD to share about a mission trip to Haiti that is happening this June. He asked for three ways to get involved in this trip to Haiti:

1. Personally be part of the team that goes to Haiti.
2. Support the trip to Haiti through prayer.
3. Support the trip to Haiti through a financial gift.

Well, FLOOD: This is how you stepped up. I cannot tell you how thankful I am for you. You are absolutely amazing.

15 of you signed up to be on the team going to Haiti.
10 of you signed up to be part of the prayer team.
3 of you signed up to offer a financial gift to support those who are going.

After one announcement, 28 of you signed up to be part of Team Haiti in different yet equally important ways.

Thank you for letting me be your pastor. The FLOOD community is absolutely amazing. I love you more than you know.

DON’T MISS THIS WEDNESDAY

I am convinced that the message that I am preaching this Wednesday at FLOOD will be the most important message that I have ever preached since FLOOD began. I know that I encourage and challenge you every week to bring everyone you know. And honestly: I mean that. But if you had to decide between inviting someone to FLOOD this week or next, make it THIS WEEK. We are still in the OVERWHELMED series, but I’m going to be preaching on the topic of “BE OVERWHELMED.” For the past two weeks we have looked at what the Bible says about not being overwhelmed. This week, I am going to show you that thing that Scripture tells us to ALWAYS BE overwhelmed by.

I am convinced that this message will bring change and confront apathy. This message is applicable to EVERYONE. Do not miss this Wednesday. Bring everyone you know. And please be praying as I prep, pray through, and preach this message. The weight of the calling to preach this message is upon me. I’m excited, but also so humbled to try to teach on this. See you there.
